Doç. Dr. Gürkan Genç
I was born in 1976 in Samsun, Turkey. After completing my primary, secondary, and high school education in Samsun, I graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1999 and became a Medical Doctor.
I completed my residency in Pediatrics in 2004 after training at Izmir Behçet Uz Children’s Hospital and Ankara Dr. Sami Ulus Children’s Hospital. During my residency, I had the opportunity to work for a period at the Medical University of Vienna, where I was introduced to acupuncture, which was frequently used within the university. I began practicing it actively.
Since 2002, I have regularly attended both national and international training programs on acupuncture and various complementary medicine practices. My first assignment as a pediatric specialist was in the district of Suruç, Şanlıurfa, where I served for six months. After completing my military service at Gülhane Military Medical Academy, I worked for one year at the Private Mesa Hospital and Ankara Private Ada Hospital. During this time, I had the opportunity to apply complementary medicine practices more intensively, follow numerous patients, and evaluate treatment outcomes.
